VIDEO: Flock cameras explode in Georgia

ALBANY, Ga. (WIS/WALB) — Authorities in Georgia are investigating after two apparent explosions involving Flock cameras.

WALB reports the Dougherty County Police Department, working with the Albany Fire Department, is investigating two separate fire incidents involving Flock Safety cameras that happened Tuesday.

Investigators believe the fires may have started in the cameras’ battery packs, but the exact cause has not been determined. Authorities are looking into whether the incidents were caused by a battery malfunction, intentional criminal activity, or another factor.

Police said the information released so far is preliminary, and the investigation remains active.
